Genesis was commissioned to provide expert economic assistance to ICASA in the 2007 public hearings on wholesale interconnection, local access and various other services. 

Genesis was commissioned to assist the National Treasury in collating a wide range of data and information on the telecommunications sector in order to inform a World Bank cross-country study.  

Genesis was commissioned to provide expert economic analysis and testimony before the Competition Commission in a case relating to a proposed merger between two of the largest telecommunications cable producers in South Africa, ATC and Aberdare. 

ComMark Trust commissioned Genesis to assess the extent of the restrictions on the air travel market in Southern Africa and, for the first time, to precisely quantify the economic costs and consequences of these restrictions for the region's economies.

In a comprehensive report to the DTI, Genesis presented an analysis of import parity pricing (IPP) in the pulp and paper industry, including its impact on the downstream industries that convert paper into paper products.

Genesis was appointed by the World Bank to conduct an assessment of the effects of the introduction of South Africa’s Competition Act in 1998, as well as of its failure to curb the anti-competitive conduct dominating the telecommunications sector. This followed various findings of anti-competitive behaviour in the sector during the 2000s.

Genesis was retained jointly by South African Airways (SAA) and Comair to resolve a dispute relating to damages suffered by Comair as a result of travel agent incentive schemes implemented by SAA. 

Genesis was commissioned to provide an assessment of the potential competitive effects of Rainbow Chickens’ acquisition of Bushvalley Chickens, a small poultry processing facility in Tzaneen.
