Economic impact of restricted air access on Southern Africa
ComMark Trust commissioned Genesis to assess the extent of the restrictions on the air travel market in Southern Africa and, for the first time, to precisely quantify the economic costs and consequences of these restrictions for the region's economies.
The study included an econometric analysis of the impact of airline market restrictions in Southern Africa.
This was used to calculate the net impact on national economies resulting from the implementation of Open Skies throughout the region.
