Education

Education

Overview

Improving outcomes for infants, children and young people.

Half the population in Africa is below the age of 20. We are committed to helping these young people, and their peers in the Middle East, develop to their full potential and make a positive contribution to their communities and societies. We work to improve education, care and support from the critical first 1,000 days of life, through K-12 education, up to young adults’ entry into the world of work.

We are particularly focused on expanding opportunities for children and young people who lack choice and opportunity. We work with governments, their partners in development, and private and non-state actors to improve the reach and quality of education, care, and support services. We help clients to take opportunities and deal with challenges presented by changes in demography, climate, technology and the shock of COVID-19.

Areas of Expertise

      image

Early childhood care, development and education

We believe deeply in the transformative value of high-quality early childhood care, development and education (ECCDE) services for their profound impact on young children, their families and caregivers, and for the betterment of societies and economies.

In the countries where we work, which have large young populations, we view early childhood investment as a major opportunity to build human capital, realise child rights and promote gender equality.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone in the Young World has access to quality education that unlocks their full potential, thereby opening up vast social and economic value.

Our team works closely with ministries of Education and their partners to strengthen education systems across the Young World. Our deep understanding of effective strategies for enhancing teaching and learning, coupled with our insider’s perspective on policy change, equips us to drive positive transformation in the educational landscape. Our team, with its combination of experience as educators, policymakers, advisers and researchers, is dedicated to refining strategies, enhancing planning and implementation, and improving the quality and coverage of services.
