    Genesis was contracted as an external adviser in the merger process between one of the largest local banks in Ghana and an SME finance provider.

    Genesis partnered with a JSE-listed South African financial services provider to develop a business case for specialist banking services to the business and personal market, including private banking.

    Genesis was employed to assist the Climate Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) in Rwanda in developing a business case for climate-compatible development in Rwanda.

    Positive impact of Soul Buddyz Clubs on young women

    Genesis was asked by Soul City to evaluate their Soul Buddyz HIV-prevention campaign in schools from 2004. We used social media, as well as direct approaches, to track down Soul Buddyz members for the study.

    Value assessment of Access to Finance Rwanda

    Genesis was contracted to take stock of Access to Finance Rwanda's progress in achieving its goal and conduct a value for money (vfM) assessment of AFR’s investments in 2015. Following this work, Genesis was contracted to review their MRM system. After the review, AFR retained Genesis in 2016 to streamline its MRM component and facilitate the effective communication of its results internally and externally.

    Developing Mpumalanga's M&E framework

    The Office of the Premier in Mpumalanga required assistance in developing the province’s M&E framework. This involved setting up the framework for information flow to support evidence-based decision-making, as well as developing the indicators needed to measure progress across all 14 provincial outcomes.

    Final evaluation of YouthSave Initiative

    Genesis was contracted by the MasterCard Foundation to conduct a final evaluation of the YouthSave initiative. YouthSave was one of the first long-term programmes that had been funded by the foundation.

    Developing market links for smallholder farmers

    Genesis worked with the TGVCI Farmer Support and Linkages project to link smallholder farmers to established retail markets through emerging commercial farming hubs that act as collection, standardisation and distribution points of product, as well as a source of inputs, market information, technical advice and training.

    Plan to create 45 000 jobs in Ethiopia

    Ethiopia has witnessed rapid economic growth with real gross domestic product (GDP) growth averaging 10.9% between 2004 and 2014. Enterprise Partners employed Genesis to provide technical support in their programme to further bolster growth over the next six years through integrating the poor, especially women, in sustainable economic enterprises that create jobs and improve incomes.
