Improving the quality and coverage of human development services.

People can develop to their full potential when they have access to quality human development services. We are committed to helping governments, their partners, and private and non-state actors improve these services.

We support building and running excellent organisations (such as schools or clinics); improving systems for recruiting, training, deploying and managing capable and motivated people (such as teachers or care workers); making sure appropriate goods (such as cash or food transfers), materials (such as textbooks) and technology are available as needed; improving systems for standard setting (such as a curriculum or care standards), verification (such as a single registry for social protection) and assessment; and engaging communities.

Projects

Our behavioural solutions team lifts school attendance by 14%

Genesis Analytics partnered with the Fun Learning for Youth (FLY) programme in Alexandra to help them improve attendance and attainment rates. The interventions resulted in a 14% increase in student attendance across all grades over the five-week period.

Sexual and reproductive services will improve health of SA's youth

Genesis Analytics supported the Department of Basic Education (DBE) to investigate the understanding, accessibility and acceptability of providing sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services to boys and girls attending school in South Africa.

Technical Advisory to National Treasury's Jobs Fund

Genesis was appointed as technical advisers (TA) to the Jobs Fund to provide support for investment strategy, governance, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and general operations.

Impact of in-school classes for budding entrepreneurs

Genesis Analytics was contracted to conduct an impact evaluation targeting learners who had completed three years of the startUP&go programme funded by the International Labour Organisation (ILO).

Sustainable financing for SA School Health Programme

The German Development Co-operation (GIZ), through its participation in the South African-German Multisectoral HIV Prevention Programme, appointed Genesis Analytics to support the South African government in strengthening the costing, budgeting and financing arrangements for the Integrated School Health Programme and in mobilising additional financial resources for the effective delivery of the programme.

Creating better opportunities for young people with 4IR

Genesis has partnered with UNICEF in Rwanda, South Africa, Oman and Qatar to conduct a foundational landscape analysis that informs the development of the country investment agenda for young people in each country.
