Social sectors financing

Social sectors financing

Overview

Our Social Sectors Financing team is dedicated to advancing human development through diagnostics underpinned by rigorous economic analysis.

We support solution design, backed by understanding the contexts within which we live and work. In addition, we support implementation, where we provide catalytic expertise to existing systems. We strive to create a world where everyone, particularly those marginalised, can achieve their full potential.

Areas of Expertise

      image

      Education and ECD financing

We are committed to ensuring that everyone in the Young World has access to quality education that unlocks their full potential, thereby generating vast social and economic value.

      Health financing

Demographic shifts, climate change, technological advancements, economic transformations and epidemiological trends in Africa and the Middle East have altered population dynamics and subsequently health risks. As countries become wealthier and as populations age, health risks are evolving and non-communicable diseases are on the rise in the Young World.

      Nutrition financing

The case to invest in nutrition is strong, not only as a moral imperative—saving lives and preventing disabilities - but also for building human capital and driving economic growth. Good nutrition, particularly in women and children, lays the foundation for a productive, thriving society.

      Social protection financing

We are dedicated to optimising social protection and child protection systems to promote human development within the Young World. Social protection encompasses a set of policies and programmes designed to shield individuals from poverty and mitigate risks to their livelihoods and well-being.

Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WaSH) financing

We understand the paramount importance of investing in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WaSH) to enhance public health, improve educational outcomes and stimulate economic growth. Access to clean water, adequate sanitation and hygiene facilities is essential for preventing diseases, promoting health and ensuring a productive society.

      Humanitarian financing

We are dedicated to optimising humanitarian finance to build resilience, respond to emergencies and support recovery. Our work focuses on disaster risk finance, disaster risk reduction, anticipatory action, financing emergency responses, and strengthening systems in humanitarian settings.
