Yacine Bio Tchané

Principal (Human Development)

Yacine Bio Tchané is a principal in the Human Development practice. She is based in Benin.

She is an economist with experience in public finance and international development across Sub-Saharan Africa. Her career began in 2008 as an Overseas Development Institute (ODI) Fellow at the South African Treasury where she spent more than two years developing peer learning and implementing public financial management reforms in Africa for the Collaborative Africa Budget Reform Initiative (CABRI).

Since then, she has conducted quantitative and qualitative studies on a wide range of sectors, public expenditure reviews including in cross-cutting sectors such as climate (incl. CPEIR), health, social affairs. She has produced several reviews of the public availability of key documents during the budget process, and built the capacity of budget and/or non-budget officials on selected PFM issues to improve the implementation of reforms, and facilitate their engagement with government, development partners or parliamentarians.

Yacine holds a bachelor's in Economics and Political Science from Rutgers University and a master's in Development Management from the London School of Economics.
