Dr Sergio Torres Rueda
Senior Health Economist (Health)
Dr Sergio Torres Rueda is a senior health economist and manager in the Health practice. He is based in France.
Before joining Genesis, Sergio was an assistant professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) where he focused on health economics and health systems research.
Sergio is a specialist in costing, economic evaluation and priority setting, with project experience in Africa, Asia and Latin America. His expertise encompasses HIV, STIs, Covid-19, immunisation, and prevention of violence against women and girls.
He has provided technical assistance to governments on the design of health benefit packages and the institutionalisation of health technology assessment. He has consulted independently for international organisations, NGOs and the private sector. He is the author of more than 50 peer-reviewed papers and reports.
Sergio has a PhD in Health Economics from the LSHTM. He speaks Spanish, English and French.
