Naledi Mapitja

Analyst (Primary Data Intelligence)

Naledi Mapitja is an Analyst in the Primary Data Intelligence Unit, based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

She has extensive experience in public health research, biostatistics and data systems. She specialises in quantitative data collection methods and data analysis. She trained as a field epidemiologist under the South African Field Epidemiology Training Program (SAFETP) under the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) where she implemented research projects and contributed to outbreak investigations.

Prior to joining Genesis, she worked as a Researcher at the Centre for Statistical Analysis and Research (CESAR), where she contributed to multiple projects. Notably, she was responsible for the supervision of field teams in Sedibeng district in Gauteng, South Africa for the Bio-Behavioural Study-Lite (BBS-Lite) where she coordinated multi-phase data collection and worked extensively on data cleaning and analysis. She also worked at the Perinatal HIV research Unit (PHRU) at the Wits Health Consortium as a data coordinator where she coordinated multi-site clinical trial data across multiple projects.

She holds a Master of Science in Epidemiology & Biostatistics from the University of Pretoria.
