Kwena Mabye
Analyst (Primary Data Intelligence)
Kwena Mabye is an analyst in the Primary Data Intelligence Unit at Genesis, based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Kwena has extensive experience in research project management, data collection, economic analysis and report writing. She specialises in qualitative research, carefully collecting and analysing data to transform into actionable intelligence.
Prior to joining Genesis, she worked as a junior research fellow at the Southern Africa Labour and Development Research Unit where she provided research support, programme analysis and evaluation on the Presidential Employment Stimulus (PES), a public employment programme residing in the project management office of the President of South Africa. Her contributions to the PES resulted in the publication and conference presentation of her research paper on the stimulus effects of the PES in the creative sector and a further publication on the intersections between public employment, the just transitions and sustainable livelihood pathways.
She holds a bachelor of commerce (Honours) in economics from the University of Witwatersrand and is a masters of commerce in development economics candidate of the University of Cape Town. She also holds a certificate in money and banking from the London School of Economics.
