Julius Mungai is the lead in the banking technology consultancy services in our Financial Services Strategy practice.
He has more than 30 years of experience as a C-level technology executive in many different African countries. Julius will be responsible for technology due diligence, core banking system assessment and upgrade projects, technology innovation as well as digital and data strategies. Notable projects in the past include:
Creating a digital transformation and innovation portfolio for a bank digitisation strategy and ensuring its adoption and execution.
- Building a state-of-the-art innovation hub for Stanbic Bank Kenya Ltd.
- Headed the technology and operations merger for Uganda Commercial Bank with Stanbic Bank Uganda.
- Managed the deployment of a new core banking system in a number of countries.
- Branch centralised projects and the hubbing strategy which led to technology and operation hubs created in Accra, Ghana and Nairobi, Kenya.
