'Femi Ogunjemilusi is a senior trade and market systems development consultant in the Climate Finance and Economics practice. He is based in England.
He specialises in trade and market systems development; monitoring and evaluating interventions implemented by both private and public sector actors; and conducting in-depth research and developing knowledge through learning.
In his role as a strategy and transactions adviser at EY, 'Femi provided analytical support to clients, aiding their decision-making processes. His work spanned macroeconomic, industry, market and financial analysis. It enabled clients to navigate complex economic environments, unlock and access capital, build capacity and achieve their strategic objectives.
'Femi led a market research project as part of the UK government’s Global Trade Programme, an initiative that aimed to improve trade facilitation systems. This project highlighted the barriers that Nigerian MSMEs face when attempting to take part in the global value chain.
He also led a consortium of consultants in designing and developing an entrepreneurship programme for a development financial institution.
'Femi’s work aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure). Central to his work is the exploration of systematic and sustainable approaches to reducing poverty and providing economic opportunities to marginalised groups.
He holds a bachelor’s in Accounting from Covenant University and a master’s in Economics from the University of Warwick. His master’s thesis focused on evaluating a micro-entrepreneurship development programme implemented by the Nigerian government.
