Faarez Gamieldien is an associate with the Human Development practice. He is based in South Africa.
His research includes the school level factors that influence academic achievement in South African schools and an econometric investigation into the role of non-cognitive skills in shaping educational outcomes in South Africa, specifically investigating the relationship between learners’ perceived returns to mathematics and mathematics achievement.
Faarez holds a master's in Applied Development Economics and an honours degree in Economics, both from the University of the Witwatersrand. He also holds a bachelor's in Investment Management from the University of Pretoria.
