UN workshop on financing health and rights initiatives

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Asia and Pacific Regional Office (APRO) contracted Genesis to organise a four-day in-person workshop to enhance participants’ capacity to engage in strategic policy dialogues on financing for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).

We developed workshop materials, including interactive presentations and practical exercises using country-specific case studies and empirical data. We also facilitated the workshop, conducted a participant evaluation, and developed a final report that summarises key outcomes and recommendations.

The workshop builds on ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacity of UNFPA staff to engage in strategic policy dialogues on financing for SRHR, aiming to increase allocations of domestic resources to address SRHR challenges.

In 2021, Genesis Analytics worked with UNFPA APRO to develop a Financing for SRHR (F4SRHR) training package to increase the knowledge and literacy of F4SRHR concepts among key stakeholders in the Asia and the Pacific region (particularly parliamentarians) for SRHR.

In 2022, UNFPA APRO contracted us to adapt the training package for a global audience. The training package was developed by experts in SRHR, health financing, and public financial management. It took the form of an e-learning course, virtual workshops and an “executive” or “primer” version of the course for parliamentarians, UNFPA country representatives and other senior staff.
