Strategy to align bank's business units

Genesis Analytics was retained by a Pan-African bank operating in Namibia to align its strategy and strategic execution plans across its business units and management teams.

In order to create a solid platform for the execution of the strategy, the project team provided market insights that included a detailed competitor, customer and CVP analysis. Interviews were also conducted with the bank's customers across all of its main segments, as well as with internal stakeholders, to identify areas for improvement. The findings of this exercise were presented at a management conference, which was facilitated by Genesis. The objective of the conference was to gather input and obtain buy-in for the bank's strategy and draft execution plans.

The project team was also tasked with building a project management tool that would allow the executive committee to track initiatives running throughout the bank in 2015 and beyond. A series of workshops were held in order to develop this.

The final deliverables included a detailed report on the bank’s financial position and its CVP relative to competitors, as well as the project management tool. Using this output, the bank aligned stakeholders and used the tool to track the execution of its strategy.
