SA financial sector skills up in face of climate change

Genesis was commissioned by the South African Reserve Bank to conduct a 12-hour capacity-building course about climate change including the challenges and opportunities it poses for the financial and banking sector.

The course consisted of three modules:

• Understanding the challenge of climate change, the science behind it and the consequences of this phenomenon.
• Solutions and necessary action, from the perspective of different actors and sectors.
• The catalytic power of the financial sector: regulatory developments, tools and financial instruments that can unlock funding and accelerate the transition towards net zero.
