SA climate resilience: ‘Visionary’ concept note to craft investment plan

Nedlac, representing South Africa’s Presidential Climate Commission (PCC), engaged Genesis Analytics to undertake a pivotal task – developing a concept note for an investment plan focused on resilience and adaptation. Building on existing projects, our work ensured the seamless integration and synergy with ongoing initiatives, bolstering the investment case for adaptation and resilience building.

To kickstart this transformative process, Genesis embarked on a comprehensive literature review and desktop study. This analysis pinpointed key priority areas and identified gaps in adaptation investment. We also explored potential financing options and strategic partnerships crucial for the successful implementation of these initiatives.

The next step involved consolidating our findings in close collaboration with the PCC, ensuring valuable input from the Presidential Steering Committee. This collaborative approach not only assessed the feasibility of each proposed measure but also scrutinised the viability of identified funding sources.
