Responding to state proposals for more mining intervention

A global mining house asked Genesis to assist in preparing a response to proposals by the then ruling African National Congress in South Africa for more state intervention in the mining sector.

We helped the company to navigate the proposals by identifying which were more likely than others and which would impact the company positively and negatively.

Then a detailed response was prepared on each proposal - including points of rejection, agreement, and constructive alternatives.

The report was presented to senior party leaders and politicians, and a number of the alternatives were adopted.
