Report keeps India's low-cost airlines airborne

Genesis was appointed to assist IndiGo, a major Indian airline, in responding to an investigation initiated by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) against the country’s low-cost airlines.

The CCI alleged that the simultaneous increase in air fares observed during the week before Diwali (5 November 2010) was the result of coordinated conduct.

The Genesis report described the principles of airline pricing and provided economic analysis justifying the rationale for the observed increases in pricing.

In line with the report, the CCI did not find any evidence of coordinated conduct amongst the airlines.
