
Post-acquisition roadmap for proptech SaaS provider
After advising a private equity fund on the acquisition of a proptech SaaS player in South Africa, Genesis was retained to develop a five-year strategic roadmap to guide this business investor. A key aspect of the work was to ensure that management and the new equity partners were aligned going forward.
The Genesis team conducted extensive internal consultations with all the business units, highlighting their most pressing focus areas in a RACI (responsible, accountable, consulted, informed) framework.
These areas were allocated across a variety of timeframes (less than a year, one to three years, and three to five years) in line with the priorities of the business and its expected capabilities at each of these milestones. For each business unit, we highlighted the opportunities, risks and potential mitigants to consider over the strategic period.
Our analysis drew attention to the key areas of the business and opportunities on which to focus in terms of revenue and operations. This helped the business define realistic revenue targets over a five-year period.
Ultimately, our analysis provided strategic focus for the client, buy-in for the new equity partners, and direction to the overall business.
