Impact of Walmart merger on Namibia
Genesis was retained by the Namibian Competition Commission to assist in evaluating the conditions and possible competitive impact of the proposed acquisition of Massmart by Walmart.
The project team provided expert testimony in the public hearings called by the Namibian Minister of Trade as part of the public interest assessment.
Namibia’s trade and industry minister gave his approval in 2012, provided it did not lead to job losses within the first two years.
