Focus on public finance for children programme in Iraq
Genesis was contracted by Oxford Policy Management to prepare for and facilitate a workshop for UNICEF Iraq’s Public Finance for Children (PF4C) Leadership Programme.
The workshop was attended by high-ranking government officials (both political representatives and civil servants) who are responsible for the budget cycle.
The workshop aimed to strengthen the dialogue and collaboration between lead and line ministries in Iraq. This was done to help participants collectively devise action plans for improved budget management across priority social sectors such as education, health, social protection and WASH.
The project also developed PF4C training for subnational government officials in selected governorates, with Genesis supervising and co-facilitating the sessions.
This capacity-building initiative is an example of action plans formulated by the PF4C Leadership Programme. The programme is committed to identifying and planning technical training for civil servants in both central and subnational authorities.
