Equipping Sappi to lead forestry in South Africa's new era

Genesis Analytics was contracted by Sappi Southern Africa to refresh its public affairs strategy in response to changes in South Africa’s political landscape. 

Building upon the public affairs strategy Genesis first developed in 2021, this project involved an updated stakeholder mapping and analysis and the development of a new key messaging framework. These elements were consolidated into a “Tactical Policy Playbook,” which provided Sappi with a practical resource to navigate the policy landscape. 

The playbook equipped Sappi to proactively elevate the importance of the commercial forestry and manufacturing sectors on the national agenda and foster constructive dialogue with prioritised government, industry, and civil society stakeholders.
