Commission flicks the switch for bank's merger

Genesis was retained by the legal team acting on behalf of Standard Bank in its acquisition of eCentric Switch to assist in responding to competition concerns raised by the Competition Commission.

The commission’s primary concern, which was dealt with effectively by the project team, related to potential customer foreclosure of competing prepaid gift card switching services that competed with eCentric.

The merger was approved without conditions.
