Genesis was commissioned to provide an analysis of the future of the television broadcasting industry in South Africa for a report commissioned by the National Association of Broadcasters.

The objective of the assignment was to outline some of the likely trends and changes in the supply and utilisation of television in South Africa that were likely to occur over the following five years within the context of a changing social and economic environment.

In particular, the report was intended to inform the design of future audience measurement ratings, which are essential for companies reliant on advertising revenues.

As a result, the project team focused on likely developments across both existing and new broadcasting platforms, with an emphasis on those that were likely to impact on audience measurement.
