Betty Maina to work with Economic Growth & Impact practice

26 November 2025

Genesis Analytics is enhancing its economic development services for East African clients.

To further this objective, Director Betty Maina will be working hand-in-hand with the Economic Growth & Impact practice to expand their impactful work across the region.

Maina will provide senior strategic counsel and client leadership. Her career includes serving as Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Industrialisation, Trade and Enterprise Development and as the transformative Chief Executive of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM).

Ryan Short, Managing Partner of the practice says “Our new name, Economic Growth & Impact, sets our direction. Deepening our collaboration with Betty is how we accelerate”.

“Betty has been a cornerstone of our presence in East Africa for years. By weaving her expertise in policy and private sector development directly into our practice’s economic growth work, we are combining world-class advisory with local execution. This is the essence of our ‘Africa-first’ promise,” he added.

Maina’s expertise in policy design, industrial strategy, and business-government relations will directly shape the practice's key projects, enhancing work on youth employment, investment climate reform, and sustainable business development.

“I have always believed in the power of collaborative effort to drive change,” said Maina. “The focused mission of the Economic Growth & Impact practice is critical for our continent. I am excited to work more closely with the team to bring our shared vision to life, ensuring that the growth we champion is both transformative and inclusive for the people of East Africa.”

This move ensures our work with businesses and governments across the continent is even more effective, turning the promise of growth into tangible improvements in people's lives.
