Steve Guppy
Director (Genesis Procurement Services)
Steve Guppy is Director of Genesis Procurement Services, based in the UK.
He has extensive experience in public procurement and the development context, where he has assisted governments and international agencies with procurement reform, capacity building and training.
He was the director of procurement at Crown Agents, where he oversaw a global portfolio. His work included purchasing urgently needed generators and gas turbines for Ukraine, medical equipment for hospitals in the Caribbean and specialist radiotherapy drugs for Sri Lanka. He also provided specialist technical assistance to support governments and institutions with reforming, strengthening, monitoring and professionalising the procurement landscape.
Steve has advised institutions such as the UN, World Bank, African Union, African Development Bank and USAID. He has worked on procurement projects in over 50 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe and the Caribbean. These projects covered supply chain and logistics, legal reform and policy, e-procurement, compliance and audit, capacity building and sustainability.
He is skilled in designing and delivering procurement training programs and has presented at international events and conferences.
Steve is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply.
