Majdoulene Kerish

Associate (Human Development)

Majdoulene Kerish is an associate in the Human Development practice. She is based in Jerusalem.

She specialises in social sector financing, particularly Islamic Finance as a viable avenue for resource-constrained countries.

Her work with UNICEF HQ focuses on the MENA region and fragile countries worldwide. Her professional journey has taken her to Palestine, Jordan, Oman, Yemen and Iraq. In Oman she developed a financing strategy for early childhood education under the Ministry of Education, and a fiscal space analysis for the Ministry of Social Development.

Majdoulene has experience in development consulting in Palestine. Working in data analysis, she participated in environmental and economic impact studies using Life Cycle modelling.

She holds a master's in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge and a bachelor's in Engineering Management with a sustainable development speciality from the University of Loughborough. She also passed the Islamic Finance Qualification examination conducted by the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Majdoulene is a member of the Jerusalem Global Shapers Hub under the World Economic Forum, where she served as a vice curator in 2021. She is also a member of the Chinese-Palestinian Society.
