Mafuno Mpinganjira

Analyst (Health)

Mafuno Mpinganjira is an analyst in the Health practice where she supports the quality assurance of the UNAIDS Technical Support Mechanism (TSM) programme using mixed methods and monitoring and evaluation techniques. She is based in South Africa.

Mafuno’s background is in quantitative research methods in public and clinical environments. She worked as a research assistant at the Wits Rural Public Health and Health Transitions Unit (Agincourt) of the Wits Health Consortium. She also worked as a research intern at the University of the Witwatersrand’s Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care. She completed a short-term research assistant internship with the Malawi-Liverpool Wellcome Trust.

Mafuno has a master’s in Epidemiology from the University of Bristol, an honours in Environmental Health from the University of Pretoria, and a bachelor’s in Biological Sciences from the University of the Witwatersrand. She is fluent in English and Chichewa.
