Helen Mekonen

Helen Asnake Mekonen is a monitoring and reporting manager in the Health practice. She is based in Ethiopia.
She is a senior monitoring and evaluation (M&E) specialist with extensive experience in development aid, humanitarian relief and management consulting. She has designed, implemented and managed M&E frameworks for international organisations and donor-funded programmes.
Helen served as an M&E specialist with GIZ International Services, establishing a robust M&E framework and implementing quality assurance procedures. At McKinsey & Company, she oversaw the M&E of an FCDO-funded programme, driving performance evaluations and promoting learning within projects.
Her regional experience includes serving as a regional learning adviser for Kenya, Ethiopia and the DRC with the Association of Charitable Foundations UK. In this role, she focused on knowledge management, learning and capacity-building initiatives.
Helen has a master's in international development and politics from Birmingham University.
