Bantu Mabaso

Analyst (Evaluation for Development)

Bantu is an analyst in the Evaluation for Development practice, based in Eswatini.

She has a specific interest in building resilient sustainable agricultural systems that prioritise environmental outcomes alongside financial returns on the African continent.

Prior to joining Genesis Analytics, Bantu worked as a research partner at NIRAS International Consulting. She worked in collaboration with the monitoring and evaluation team to quantify the impact of the FCDO funded Building Resilience and Adapting to Climate Change (BRACC) program on the resilience of smallholder farm systems in Malawi.

Bantu has also used her quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to assist senior leadership at the University of Edinburgh’s Social Responsibility and Sustainability department in making evidence-based decisions when adopting suitable low carbon renewable energy technologies to improve energy efficiency across the University's three campuses. In addition, Bantu has experience designing and implementing programmes aimed at promoting the adoption of climate smart agriculture practices among smallholder farmers in Eswatini.

Bantu holds a master’s in Environmental Sustainability from the University of Edinburgh, which she completed as a Chevening Scholar, and a bachelor’s in Political Science from Bates College. Bantu is also a Resolution Project Fellow and One Young World Ambassador.
