Expert advice in JSE merger with Bond Exchange

In a pivotal transaction between the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), the primary capital market in South Africa, and the Bond Exchange of South Africa (BESA), Genesis was commissioned to provide expert economic advice and analysis to the merging parties.

Genesis also made representations to the Competition Commission. The project team’s analysis was important in providing an understanding of this extremely complex market.

The competition authorities ultimately approved the merger.
