Designing full impact framework for pan-African bank

The board of one of the biggest pan-African banking groups had in principle adopted a social, economic and environmental (SEE) approach. The purpose was to measure the positive and negative SEE impact of the bank on financial returns.

The intention of the board was to build an SEE impact assessment over time into all strategies and operations of the group so that SEE factors would inform all decision-making in the group.

Genesis was asked to design the full SEE framework, to identify viable and robust metrics, and to populate these metrics so as to measure the social, economic and environmental impact of the group across the African continent.

The framework was put into use in the bank.
