Launch of Genesis Procurement Services
9 October 2024
Genesis Analytics is pleased to announce the launch of Genesis Procurement Services Ltd (GPS), a new division enabling us to offer our clients new capabilities in public procurement, logistics and supply chain management.
Although this is a new line of business for Genesis Analytics, we are delighted to be working with some of the best in the business. The GPS team can offer decades of experience working in some of the world’s most complex environments.
The team will be led by respected sector leader, Steve Guppy, along with 10 former members of his Crown Agents procurement team. The award-winning CA team was regarded across the international development sector as a beacon of excellence.
Expanding into this crucial technical area has been a long-held ambition for the Genesis group. “Procurement transparency is a key challenge for the governments of the 115 countries where Genesis Analytics has worked,” explains Stephan Malherbe, founder and CEO of Genesis Analytics.
“Crown Agents procurement team set the standard for how to deliver aid based on international best practice and the highest standards of ethics, integrity and transparency. By joining forces, we will be able to offer the Crown Agents benchmark of quality but our African roots will enable GPS to offer a more localised approach, grounded in the reality of the lived experience of our staff, 80% of whom live in the majority world.”
“I am thrilled to be creating GPS along with my former Crown Agents procurement team members,” explains Steve Guppy. “By bringing together our global technical expertise with Genesis’ regional heritage we can offer a unique service and perspective to our clients both in Africa and further afield. We are excited that we share the same ethos, objectives and goals and we can’t wait to start applying our combined strengths to work with clients to meet their challenges in the procurement and logistics arena. Our shared outlook and complimentary skills means GPS is a firm to watch.”
Global procurement and supply chain challenges can be addressed by improving efficiency, ensuring value for money and supporting sustainable practices. GPS will offer practical solutions to these issues, and is well-placed to help grow economies, strengthen systems and accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals through partnerships with governments, donors, NGOs. The GPS team have provided services in over 100 countries and their combined professional experience adds up to over 200 years of expertise in the field. Joining the Genesis Analytics family will enable the team to develop its mission to a more locally-led approach.
