Genesis to develop HIV and TB comms strategy to improve prevention and care

Genesis Analytics has been asked to develop an HIV and TB communication strategy for the South African Department of Health (DoH) to improve care and prevention.

Communication is vital in providing healthcare to South Africans, but lines can often be crossed, leading to fewer responses and depriving people of services for care and prevention, especially for those at risk of HIV and TB. 

The Department of Health, supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, asked for assistance in developing a communication strategy and business case for HIV and TB communication in South Africa.

The Health practice at Genesis, supported by the Centre for Communication Impact (CCI), will develop a strategy that focuses on HIV and TB and their associated comorbidities, risk factors such as cervical cancer and hepatitis for HIV, and diabetes and smoking for TB.
