Genesis joins TB project for Southern African miners
5 December 2016
Genesis Analytics is part of a consortium that is developing a communication strategy targeting tuberculosis and related illnesses affecting mineworkers, ex-mineworkers, their families and communities in Southern Africa.
The eight-month project by the Wits Health Consortium forms part of a larger project, Tuberculosis in the Mining Sector in Southern Africa (TIMS). It is being implemented in Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Genesis will review current communication strategies in the
region, consult stakeholders to gain insights into the environment in which the
strategy will be executed and pre-test materials with the target audiences.
Genesis will help to develop the overall communication
strategy, which will be led by Meropa Communications, which has experience in
public health issues like HIV and TB.
