Genesis was chosen to advise the National Treasury and the Presidency on the creation of an off-balance sheet financing framework.

Nedlac, representing South Africa’s Presidential Climate Commission (PCC), engaged Genesis Analytics to undertake a pivotal task – developing a concept note for an investment plan focused on resilience and adaptation.

Genesis Analytics provided support to the Government of South Africa, particularly the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment Affairs (DFFE), in developing a robust investment plan for adaptation actions.

In collaboration with Genesis, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) released guidelines for conducting country-level green employment diagnostics, aligning with the goal of facilitating just transitions.

Genesis Analytics, in collaboration with Nedlac and South Africa's Presidential Climate Commission, has embarked on an exciting mission to pave the way for innovative adaptation financing mechanisms in South Africa.

Genesis was put at the helm of a project consortium to study the impact and mitigation of the planned shutdown of seven ageing coal-fired power plants in Mpumalanga, South Africa. The project was commissioned by the Nationally Determined Contributions Partnership, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, and involved economists, engineers and social experts.

Genesis is playing a key supporting role to the IFC APEX team reviewing the data inputs that have been collected so far for Cape Town’s Green Investment Pipeline Analysis.

Genesis is work closely with South Africa’s National Treasury Asset and Liability Management Division and the Presidential Climate Finance Task Team to provide strategic advice and recommendations as regards the resource mobilisation and coordination function for the JET IP.
