Bavani Naidoo made partner in Financial Services Strategy

26 March 2019

Bavani Naidoo has been appointed partner in the Financial Services Strategy (FSS) practice at Genesis Analytics.

She is an experienced management consultant who specialised in the financial services industry in South Africa and the UK.

Her clients have included tier-1 banks, second-tier or challenger banks and other financial service entities such as fintechs or retail brands looking to enter the financial services industry.

Welcoming her to the partner body, Genesis founder and chair, Stephan Malherbe (pictured centre with COO Mike Olver on the right), said Naidoo has brought a wealth of experience to the firm since joining it in 2016.

He said that she has played an important role in building cross-practice expertise in the firm and in understanding what is required on the continent to face the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution. Bavani led a flagship research report on the impact of the fourth industrial revolution of South Africa’s financial services market. The report was submitted to the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision in response to their consultative document on the implications of fintech for the financial sector.

FSS managing partner and Genesis director Richard Ketley (pictured left) paid tribute to the role that she has played in building the FSS team in the past two years.

Naidoo’s project experience has included strategy development or review, operational strategy design, large scale transformation projects and initiatives that appear on the CFO agenda.

Naidoo has extensive experience in the strategic operational space and has worked on the development, interpretation and implementation of operating models. She was involved in translating the Absa Group strategy into business strategies for the key business units within the group.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Finance and Economics and has an honours in Corporate Finance.
