Monet Durieux is a senior associate in the Evaluation for Development practice at Genesis. She is based in the UK office.
She has 13 years’ experience as an economist in the public sector in South Africa. She has worked in the National Treasury and the national statistical office, Stats SA, in the labour statistics division. Her work focused on using labour-market data to inform policy and design incentives to support job creation. She has a strong technical understanding of the pathways that support youth employment creation.
Since 2017, as an international development consultant, Monet has worked across a number of sectors, focusing on youth transitions, access to credit, financial literacy, MSME development and agriculture value chains. She has undertaken mid and end-line evaluations for foundations in the agriculture and education sector, designed external monitoring systems and conducted learning assessment of programmes.
Monet has extensive experience in project management, responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget as well as managing a number of diverse teams. She has project experience in Zambia, Malawi, Uganda, Zanzibar, Kenya, South Africa, Cambodia, Sierra Leone, Lebanon
Monet holds a master’s in Econometrics from the University of Pretoria (South Africa).
