Dr Adaiah Lilenstein

Senior Associate (Human Development)

Dr Adaiah Lilenstein is a senior associate in the Human Development practice and is based in South Africa.

Adaiah is a development economist specialising in education measurement and policy. She has contributed to research for international institutions such as UNU-WIDER, UNESCO, UNICEF, USAID and the World Bank. She has also worked for leading Southern African research institutions such as ReSEP, DPRU and SALDRU.

Primarily a quantitative data analyst, Adaiah is skilled in experimental and quasi-experimental design, data collection and instrument design and testing. She also has experience in qualitative research methods.

Adaiah has led or contributed to evaluations for educational organisations including Breadline Africa, Whistle Stop Schools, Funda Wande, the South African Department of Basic Education, RTI and Room to Read.

Adaiah has an honours in Psychology and a master’s in Economic Development from the University of Cape Town. She has a doctorate in Economics from Stellenbosch University.
