Successful exemption for over-the-counter medicines

Genesis was retained to provide an expert economic report for the Self-Medication Association of South Africa (SMASA), which formed the basis of its successful application for the exclusion of over-the-counter medicines from price regulation. This was followed by an interim review of the impact of the price regulation exemption.

Genesis has also provided economic analysis for SMASA on whether restrictions placed on the advertising of Schedule 2 medicines were warranted.
