Socio-economic impact of changes to Deeds Registries System

Genesis conducted a socio-economic impact assessment (SEIA) of the feasibility of implementation of the Electronic Deeds Registration Bill for the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform.

This act sought to move the Deeds Registries system (the foundation of all property rights) from a manual and paper based system to a digital system.

Our conclusion was that implementation of the Bill would be net positive for South Africa, and we provided recommendations for how the risks of the Bill could be mitigated.
