Payments strategy puts Mauritian firm in the swim
Genesis was asked to develop a payments strategy for a consumer finance company in Mauritius. The assignment was guided by the client's goal of becoming a major payments player in the Mauritian market.
The project had four key objectives:
- identify the global, regional and Mauritian payments trends that could inform the strategy;
- size the opportunity space in Mauritius;
- conduct a review of the competitor landscape; and
- finally articulate a future-facing payments strategy for the firm.
Once the key objectives had been reached, our Behavioural Economics team was brought on board to take the project one step further. The team looked at the impact that a loyalty programme could have on the success of the payments strategy. This has now been included in the client’s future plans.
