Expert advice on private hospital industry in SA

Genesis was commissioned by HASA and SAMA to provide expert advice on the new National Health Reference Price List (NHRPL) and its implications for the sustainability of the healthcare sector.

We had previously provided expert economic support in the development of parliamentary submissions made by both HASA, which represents private hospitals, and SAMA, which represents general practitioners, in respect of the National Health Amendment Bill of 2008.

The project team provided an independent assessment of the role of the private hospital industry in South Africa. The proposed legislation was ultimately abandoned by the Department of Health.
