Experienced and Project Hires

Candidates can refer to the experienced or project hire pages for more information and to apply for available opportunities. Opportunities at this level do not follow a set timeline. Four Guiding Principles
At Genesis, four principles guide everything we do. These are:
A focus on analytical strength
Economics is our core tool, to which we apply many other tools – financial, strategic and evaluative – to improve decisions and unlock value. We pride ourselves on the quality of our analysis. Every professional at Genesis is required to wield our analytical tools with rigour, imagination and courage.
Being at home in both the private and public sectors, especially where they intersect
We strongly believe in the same teams servicing both the corporate and the public sectors. Experience in the one, we believe, enriches our work in the other. As a result of this cross-learning, we are often asked to work in the zone where the market meets the state.
Ethics above expedience
We work hard to earn and maintain a reputation for rigour, transparency and fairness, as well as for helping to improve the system we live and work in.
A focus on the world in which the decision is made, as well as on the world in which it will be executed
As a firm, we seek to improve a wide range of decisions on behalf of our clients: from decisions regarding regulatory processes in a multi-billion-dollar industry to decisions about the nutrition of a young woman in rural Rwanda. We believe that the focus on decision context sets us apart from our competitors.

Genesis Values
Project Hires
Genesis has completed more than 900 assignments in over 35 countries across Africa, Asia and the Middle East. In the economic development space, we design, implement and evaluate projects for bilateral and multilateral donor agencies as well as development finance institutions. Through this work, we inform policy decisions at the highest levels of government and impact the livelihoods of the most vulnerable communities. We are therefore driven to unlock maximum value through every intervention.
Current opportunities at Genesis
As we grow our portfolio of projects, we seek equally talented associate consultants to collaborate with on project-specific engagements. We recognise that the success of our long-term project delivery is based on our combined offering of Genesis’s institutional specialisations and the field experience of associate consultants. We therefore continuously nurture a community of expert consultants who have a balance of proven technical skills and field-based experience, and who share our passion for developing Africa and its people.
We invite expert consultants with more than seven years of experience in one or more of our technical areas to contact us. Whether you are applying for an existing project position or just expressing interest in future collaboration, we will store your details in our database for easy reference as opportunities arise.
