Much of the infrastructure that business in the developed world takes for granted is not available in the developing world, or is plagued by a combination of high prices and poor service delivery. Without crucial infrastructure, which includes services as varied as transportation, telecommunications and electricity, the basic prerequisites for investment do not exist.
